The eLine Partnership and the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education

The eLine Partnership is a three-year project in the federal Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education's Learning Anywhere Anytime Partnerships. The collaborative project is also supported and funded through several other initiatives and agencies including two primary educational institutions: Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Del Mar College.

The eLine curriculum offers a seamless, articulated, collaborative, entry-level nursing curriculum, available anywhere, anytime that will produce the nursing workforce needed to manage, provide and innovate the caring continuum for the ever evolving health care needs of the population.

This project has developed an innovative online pedagogy grounded in the existing curricula at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Del Mar College. Asynchronous curricula is competency based, self-paced, faculty and preceptor guided. Clinical preceptors from the student’s ambient health care delivery system are contracted for practice and to demonstrate essential competencies. Students choose to enter the eLine initiative and designate the degree of their choosing from their institution of choice. The degree received is dependent on the general education requirements of the participating institution as well as the number of competency modules the student completes. The eLine curriculum is designed to offer maximum flexibility to students who might not otherwise be able to obtain a degree in the traditional classroom environment. Breaking down the geographical barrier to education is one of the main goals of eLine.
